Seeking translation for 5.45x39 Spam can markings

    Hello All,

Investigating this case of two spam cans of apparently Russianicon surplus 5.45x39 and I have two questions:

    - date of manufacture (1976 and 77?)
    - are the primers likely to be corrosive?

    Thanks for any insight.

Thanks! He's asking a fair price so if I buy his Interarms built Tantal the ammo will probably come home with me too.

I remember when that stuff was unobtainium. I found some empties on the range in Bordon ON during gulf war one...and kept them as they were that scarce.

    7,62x39mm

The first 7,62x39mm that came to the USAicon was from Finlandicon, it was said that Lake City reversed engineered the 7,62x39mm from Finland to manufacture (both ball and blank)

Other cartridges such as 6,5 Carcano, 6,5 MS and the old 30 Remington were used to form the Sovieticon too.

Some Czechicon 7,62x45mm was supposed to have been formed in the 7,62x39mm with the headstamps bnx 53 and bnx 54

Best thing that happened was the 22 PPC benchrest cartridge

And the primers are not just likely corrosive, they are 100% corrosive. Clean the gas system well after use.

Hope you get a good price, I'd buy the ammo just to have for my collection (to not open); If you get it and open the cans save the tops for me and i'll buy them from you. I've never been interested in the 'AK' style weapon or 'AR' for that.. As a matter of fact I've been thinking about reducing my inventory of Mosin's from 5 to 1 so I have more room in my safe and funding for more interesting firearms.

Here is a chamber adopter to use the PSM 5,45x18mm cartridge in your 5,45x39mm rifle

I bought the gun. And the case of ammo. I'll never use it all so I'm going sell one.

    Thanks all for the input.
