Found this unusual 91/30 today. A 1937 Izhevsk, non import, non refurb..matching save for bolt. Bolt has earlier Izhevsk bow and arrow markings.
I believe it is an SCW example. Sanded stock. In fact, stock appears handmade, or a hasty copy. Crossbolt is crude, note the unique way the forestock has been shaped. Bolt handle bent at some point.
There appears to be an ink stamp under the buttplate.
No 'Made In USSR' marking.
Came with a pretty used bayonet. Seller swore it had been with the rifle as long as he could remember.
I tried to get a clear pic, as there is some sort of symbol scratched onto the left of the rear sight base. It is very faint, will try to get a better pic later. It is very hard to see, and I have no clue what it could be.
All in all, an interesting example. Enjoy the pics!
