    Refinishing my refinished K98 lol

Well got bored again yanked my RC K98icon out of the cabinet for an overhaul on the wood. BEFORE anyone jumps on this there were ZERO markings on it other then serial. I had stained it befeore when i cleaned it up but over time it bugged me so im restoring it to look original with just using BLOicon. The stock was in pretty rough shape but came out awesome way better then i thought. Removing the Tung Oil was a nightmare kinda like cleaning up hair gel with a plastic bag it aint happening haha. Scrubbing and ligjtening aside looks damn good. Sanded yes SANDED the crappy roughness away and now its baby smooth. This rifle will look the way it was captured no doubt. More of a natural wood color. Ill be posting pics as i go. Figured I'd share this post with everyone. I very much like restoring war era guns and have some diff techniques that work awesome. I have NO clue why anyone in their right mind would ever use water on their gun to remove cosmolineicon...or a dishwasher...or a tub...or oven. Just stupid if u ask me. Not to mention enjoy the petroleum film on your dishes for lets say...the next 5 years or however long u own it for haha just felt like throwing that in.
