Vitali M1870/87
Brought home another misfit today..a Vitali M1870/87. Looks like she was originally made by Torino in 1873. The 'RIPARAZIONE' stamp shows a conversion date of 1889, if I am correct.
Unfortunately, Don Bubbazino got his mitts on it. Horrible uneven hacksaw job on the barrel. I am contemplating crowning it and doing a pseudo-carbine job on it. Something peppered the heck out of the butt as well.
These are, in my opinion, very elegant weapons. They certainly stand out in a crowd. I think this old veteran deserves a little attention.
