    Hi all,

A friend is looking to identity the two items pictured above, any details would be useful.

The right one in the last pics is a Bren gun cover. https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=26386

WWII Bren Gun Cover - Militaria

The other looks like a tool roll but I can't say for which one...

A suggestion is that the first item is an armours spares roll, apparently quite sort after for any field roll with little bits and pieces to hold onto.

Armourers spares roll? Nope, never saw one. Our spares were in the back of the Armourers lorry, generally a low mileage old Bedford QL until the RL's took over in the late 60's/early 70's - if you were part of a Field Workshop. Or in the LWB land rover at unit level. Generally to be found close to the reccy mechs and their Centurion ARV or the fitters 434 because they always had hot water and total lack of interest in what the crunchies were doing

M&S Ltd M/G 1942................well Marks & Spencers were very active during WW2 serving all three services.
Looks to me like a heavy machine gun parts wallet for a trained technician, with all numbered wallets for specific items that needed to be found quickly!!
With a crows foot so definately issued!!

I do believe that I have seen a roll offered for sale, similar to what is shown in picture 1, but described as something other than an "armourer's roll". I do get the impression that some people have the belief that by prefixing the description of the item of which they are attempting to attract others to purchase, with "armourer's" may, in some way, enhance the desirability and value of that item.

Top marks for the most commonly misused prefix when militaria items are being sold on a very well known internet auction website has to, surely, go to the prefix "SAS". Some vendors appear to believe that by simply applying the magic 3 letter prefix to the description of the item of which they have for sale, it receives an approximate instant 30% value increase.

Nice to know people all round the world rate our SF so highly that they think it would command a higher price when mentioned..................well we know we have the best, who spend much of their time when there's no wars on the go, showing other countries how to perfect their routines, and I suspect we will always be doing that.
I often feel "training" is offered to freely by HMG, where we give too much away, when I have seen so much thrown back in our faces when those very same "friendly's" become the enemy!
