What are the serial number ranges of the M1A1icon carbine or did they have some in all serial number ranges.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. There's a box below on this page that shows "Similar Threads" - click on the last one "High number M1A1icon's" for information on the later s/n range for M1A1's. There was also an earlier s/n range for the 1st run. - Bob

The Inland M1A1icon carbine was made at the same time as the M1 carbines were. There is no separate listing of M1A1 carbines. Starting in very late 1942 with serial numbers above 30,000 range it is thought, until the last one was made during December 1944. No new M1A1 carbines were made after about the 6.5 million serial numbers range. No date after 12/44 on a barrel for an M1A1 except as a rebuild or replacement.
