    Interesting VZ24

Picked this VZ24 up today at the gun show. It has some pretty interesting features.
Unit marking(?) on disc. Been a while since I've seen one marked like this.
The rear side swivel has been removed for some reason and filled in. This obviously has been done some time ago, and yet the front side sling swivel remains.
The bolt appears to be from a Gew98.
The buttplate also appears to be Germanicon, as it has a waffenamt stamp (37) and a v prefix to the mismatched serial number. Early 98k plate? It contours perfectly to the stock.
    No import mark.
There appears to be some faint graffiti on the right of the butt. Can't make it out yet.
No slot in front sight base for sight hood. VZ23 barrel? Transitional VZ24?
Will be taking this down tomorrow to see what else I can find on it. The filled in rear sling swivel is a real puzzler.
