Old MREs
They drop their nutritional value greatly after 10 years, but as long as the packaging is still intact, I have had MREs from the mid 80's with no ill effect. Some of the items turn bland and tasteless. Nothing was putrid. Some of the stuff at least still had taste to it. Doubt it would sustain me. More of a parlor trick.
Like was mentioned. Sniff and small taste test as you go. I don't think you should have any problems.
NOTE: I am not a lawyer, nor do I play a lawyer on this program.

I always noticed that when you put the hot sauce on they all taste the same.

I never realized how much oil was in peanut butter until I opened one of those packets.....

I have a case of C-rations from 1968 with cigarettes. The case is stained and several cans have split open so I don't think the main meals are ok. The pack that doesn't seem affected is Ham and mutha, eh, Lima Beans (of course!). I understand that re-enactors will pay a pretty price for these for display items.

The Range courses taught to candidates to hold onto all the PB cans and you could use them as emergency landing lights...light the oil.
