    Mk1*** serial number question?

Having searched all the threads I could find, very informative, I seem to be able to find lots of information about the serial numbers of the Irish rifles, but not much else.

I am looking at a rifle and waiting for more info from the dealer.

In the meantime I have a serial number of 68532K. Is anybody able to shed any light on this.

    Many thanks. Stay safe.

It would appear to me that most of the Mark 1*** rifles found in the USAicon have the
second or even third serial number with the prefix CR or ER and G. I was able to
find a nice BSA 1906 with matching parts marked s over 87176 years ago. Your
rifle should have a manufacturer name and date

    Thank you.
In the UKicon, doesn’t mean the rifle has not come back home from the US or anywhere else.
The seller states it’s a Lee Enfield, awaiting for specific details. Just wondering if anybody had any info based on the serial number alone.

The only serial numbers that can be firmly related to a manufacturer are on the No4 rifles.
Prior to that several manufacturers could use the same (repeat) number.

If 2 manufacturers both started at A1 then went to A2 etc etc there would be a large number of identical numbers, the difference will be in the manufacturers markings.
Is it definitely a SHTLE 1***, or, just a 'Lee Enfield' ?
Do you have any pictures or a link to an advert ?
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
