    Italian issue M1D accessories?

Does anyone here know what accessories the Italianicon M1d rifles were issued with the rifles?

    Especially what type of sling.

    Thank you.

I am guessing that it is the same sling as used for the BM-59?

I am also wondering what kind of scope case there was with these. Metal or web, possibly the US mad web scope sleeve.

Yes Hal, Garand's sling is the same as the BM 59 (with fixed stock) sling. The BM 59 with folding stock has a shorter sling.

The scope cases are the American canvas cases: M65 and 7631596. Scopes and cases were all provided by the USAicon.

The manuals and accessories have been selling on the web for a boat load of money. Much more expensive than similar US parts and the manual for crazy money.

Here manuals ("Nota Descrittiva") for the M1D rifle are unavailable, both for the 7,62 NATO version, and for the .30-06 version.
However, a number of M1Ds should still be in storage at the PMAL in Terni, and who knows . . . . .
