I would argue that an intact mum rifle, numbers matching and in good shape, will do a bit better than 450-500 if marketed right. I would pay 450 for an intact mum and numbers matching in a heartbeat. Heck ground mums are going near that at times. My one Type 99 was free to me, though I do plan on repaying the kindness shown by the man who gave it to me. It’s a remarkable shooter too, can’t believe I lucked out like I did. I turned a sub 2” 5 round group at 100 with it the other day. Most groups are easily sub 3” when I do my part. The 8” gong at 200 doesn’t stand a chance. Not bad for a 80 year old rifle with a mismatched bolt.
