    British Pith Helmet

Picked this up at a flea market yesterday for $7 so no matter what, I'm not out much.

I researched before buying and came to the conclusion it is not an official military issue item.

Would this be something that would be private purchase? Would that be allowed? I posted it on a site that usually Id's things pretty quickly and I'm just getting "positive" type comments on what a nice item it is with one suggestion it's from North Africa. I'm thinking they don't know either.

I have found one identical unit online in pinterest with no real reference to what it is or what it sold for.

Says Britishicon Made on one side with a flag. Real Calf Leather on the other side. Seal in top says Trimingham Bros, Bermuda and possibly London on the top.

So what it comes down to is this a military possible item or a Halloween prop for Jumunji costume.

I would say if there is no "Broad-Arrow" or other Britishicon military marking then it's not military issue but it could be private purchase for use by an officer.
