Your take off barrel still won't be junk, you can likely sell to someone that wants original and no worry about inside. There ARE those...

oh yes. the couple stores I've found that have a rifle barrel with front sight base, in worse exterior condition than mine, want 250 or more for it. If I can sell at that, it's almost an even swap for a brand new one.

EDIT: Just ordered new 30" barrel from criterion. Free UPS ground shipping, and I found coupon code esydow13 that is still valid for 20% off....so I could make a profit and offset some parts selling the barrel after I get it off.
