The Philippine Scouts 26th Cavalry had all their sabers removed from service in 1935 (as did the US Cavalry in the states) as
the cavalry still required an edge weapon in the Philippines, all the Model 1915 bolo bayonets were rounded up and issued to
the 26th Cavalry (these having limited use on the Model 1903 rifle)
When the 26th Cavalry PS received their issue of gas trap and later gas port M1rifles, their bayonet was the M1915 bolo that
had been already issued. Each member also had a Model 1911A1 pistol as issue too
