.455 MkII Webley brass spacer build.
Attachment 120524Attachment 120525Did this project after talking to a fellow WB shooter about using small rifle primers in his .38 and thinking about how I could get my large pistol primers to last longer. I have 4000 lpp but have 8000 srp. The lpp will be used in my 45colt and 44-40 cas rifles. The .455 could be used in my vaqueros and small primer .45acps in revolvers and 1911s. Came up with two ideas. Both involved using spp .455 brass and spp .45acp brass. My first was to build a .020 spacer to go between the very thin .455 rims and the Ruger Vaquero cylinder face. Tried plastic, aluminum and finally found some 26 ga steel from Lowes that was .020. Used my HF mini mill and a rotary table. After talking to a machinist and realizing that I was doing the set up wrong i made a couple correct shims. They work great. I did have to turn the raised ratchet part of the cylinder down a hair as it was interfering with the larger .455 rims. The second idea was to just find a .45acp blackhawk cylinder and fit it to my vaqueros. Got one coming. I only have 88 pcs of .455 small primer brass but have over 600 acp. I need a minimum of 60 pcs of revolver brass to shoot our cas match. Knew there was some reason why I kept that aggravating .45acp.
