    Type 99 Naval Trainer?

I was over at a friends and he wanted me to look at a rifle. Best I can tell it’s a last ditch Naval trainer or is a special. I don’t have any books because I’m headed to Louisville. Can anyone decipher what the stock says. Bolt handle and firing pin match letters, no numbers. I couldn’t tell if the safety or extractor match as they didn’t have any marks that I could find. The receiver appears to be cast and does not have any serial or makers marks or they were obliterated. Otherwise the rifle is all there except no cleaning rod. Any comments would be appreciated. Regards.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Agree, this is a Naval trainer. If you post the picture of the stock with Kanji on Reddit r/translator, someone may be able to translate it for you.
