    Arisaka type 99 bolt problem?

As above I own an Arisakaicon type 99 that I've raised the bolt handle on and now botlt won't go down or be removed at all? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, please?

First can you verify the rifle is not loaded? Th stuck bolt is usually a safety knob problem. With the palm of your hand push it in and try to rotate it back and forth. Did you disassemble the rifle before hand or change anything? Can you see if the sear on the firing pin is in its channel? Sometimes they will jam up in this area. I've had to remove the stock and remove the trigger on a few. Possibly the firing pin or safety knob are not installed in the right position (rotationally). This seems to be a common Arisakaicon malady.

Yep, I agree with Salt Flat. Use the palm of your hand on the safety, push in and rotate counterclockwise. If it still won’t move, then you have to remove the action, and have to cock the striker manually with a screwdriver, the safety can be rotated and open the bolt. If I remember correctly, you can get to the firing pin sear catch by removing the trigger or bolt release/ejector.

The dust cover was wedged tightly to the bolt knob just a sharp whack with the palm of my hand remedied this malady. Doesn't seem to be anyone on this forum well versed on Arisakaicon's so I gave up on getting an answer?

Well that's simply not true. Sometimes it's more like no one's interested. There are some very advanced Japanese collectors here.

I wouldn't worry about it though.

You received a couple ideas, and never replied with an update, and then gave up and blamed the forum? What did I miss?

Missed nothing Mac 702, I'd say he's moved on pretty tall order saying ppl here don't care or know. I'm certain seeing his post that the situation was solved by him unwittingly so to save face he blamed the forum because he was to blind to ascertain the malady that afflicted his rifle.
I find it pretty rude and inconsiderate that a member would say such a thing in the company that is on this site be better off without his type on here, guess his next question will be which end does the projectile come out of or who made the rifle............................................. ...

He hasn't seen and doesn't care anyway. He left right after making that statement and didn't even see my reply. I doubt he'll be back...
