Arisaka type 99 bolt problem?
As above I own an Arisaka
type 99 that I've raised the bolt handle on and now botlt won't go down or be removed at all? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, please?

First can you verify the rifle is not loaded? Th stuck bolt is usually a safety knob problem. With the palm of your hand push it in and try to rotate it back and forth. Did you disassemble the rifle before hand or change anything? Can you see if the sear on the firing pin is in its channel? Sometimes they will jam up in this area. I've had to remove the stock and remove the trigger on a few. Possibly the firing pin or safety knob are not installed in the right position (rotationally). This seems to be a common Arisaka
malady.

Yep, I agree with Salt Flat. Use the palm of your hand on the safety, push in and rotate counterclockwise. If it still won’t move, then you have to remove the action, and have to cock the striker manually with a screwdriver, the safety can be rotated and open the bolt. If I remember correctly, you can get to the firing pin sear catch by removing the trigger or bolt release/ejector.

Well…what was the outcome? Did you get it working correctly?
