Never saw one of these before - seller claims gas trap part

One original new old stock M-1 garand rifle early war and gas trap rear sling swivel straight from arsenal package, original darker parkerized finish. The screw hole is twice as large and the hump at base. These are from a small lot of parts I picked up that came from the old redstone arsenal, there were a few treasures like this in very small quantities.See my other listings for more WW2 US M-1 garand rifle parts and accessories

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Not a Gas Trap part. I believe that swivel is used on one of the M14icon stocks, E2 ?. It should have a bushing used in it also.

    Thanks, that makes sense

Missing the drawing number it did not appear to me that it was the correct time period.
