Got one just like it, about 1,200 later SN#. Part of an NRA offer in the 60's. $50 sounds cheap but today's money, about $500. Still a steal for an unfired M1911A1. My dad put target sights on it and the front sight was modified. I paid $250 for another unmolested slide two years ago. Sometimes you can find them with the original box. Is the magazine marked with a "G"? If so it was General Shaver co, part of Remington Rand. The RR's were the largest production of WW2 1911's. Find a Singer and the dollars are really going to go up. They are nice shooters. If I recall, there were three different type faces used on the slide. Any WW2 M1911A1 is highly desirable. The CMP
has a drawing on them for $1,000- 1,250, and none are as nice as that one.
