    1903 stock identification

The receiver which came with this stock is 1934 Springfield Armory production mated to a Springfield 03-33 barrel. The bolt is stamped NS. I bought the rifle in the 1990s from a fellow, since passed away, that worked at Sarco, which was then located in New Jersey. Everything is in beautiful condition, follower is polished and it seemed to be set up as someone's match rifle. The barrel is not star gauged, bolt not polished. Has anyone ever seen those diamond S markings? I'm pretty sure that they are not US Government. Does this stock have the characteristics of a stock which could have been used on an early 1930s rebuild? Is that a K in the cutoff recess? Keystone? I thought they only made WW2 replacement C stocks. My guess is that, if the original owner didn't put the rifle together himself from parts he had access to, it was possibly assembled for a private rifle club or bought by a civilian shooter for competition. Seem possible? Any insight would be appreciated. The rifle itself now sits in a reproduction C stock which a gunsmith fitted for me some years ago. I sure hope these pictures come out!!
