Gunsmith for a NM project
Have a 1925 ish unlisted NM rifle that has been sporterized . The 1925 barrel has had a william's rear sight mounted on it and the military front sight removed and replaced with a sporter sight.
To make matters worse, it has been buffed and blued . Would consider saving the barrel if possible. Need a 1903 smith to look at that job.
If a salvage is not possible I have a NM 1925 replacement barrel to spin onto the receiver.
The rifles immediately before this serial number are all nm rifles as are the rifles immediately after it.
Also considered mounting an original USMC sniper barrel we have in stock and turning it into a USMC sniper clone which would require a hatcher hole and a properly mounted unertl base on the front receiver ring. The barreled action would then need to be refinished .
Any recommendations?
