Finn SVT-40 with modified gas regulator question

    Good day,
I just got a nice finn captured SVT-40 with the gas regulator modified from 1.7 to 2.0. I read this was because of the load D166 but if I just want to shoot surplus, guess I just have to select the port at 1.3 and its good to go or I have to buy a new unmodified gas regulator ?

    thanks

You need to get out and try it first. Use the ammo you intend to shoot...I'll bet it works.

I just don't want to crack the stock as I assume, 2.0 will deliver a good recoil ?

I doubt it'll break anything. If you're in doubt then wait and someone else will be along. I bet it's had it's share of current available ammo since it's import into Canadaicon though. Start with the smaller one and see when you go shooting...
    Regards, Jim
