A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I’ll take a look and see if, though twice left handed, I can help you.

Are you talking about the entire button or just the wood part of the button? I'm not sure how to replace either to be honest. I've looked at them before. The wood itself is probably impossible, the button however should come out of there somehow as it moves.

Just from looking at some pictures, I think it's like a rivet in which case you would have to grind the head off With a Dremel. A new rivet would probably have to be made or the old one have some material added to the end (weld). Then rivet it back together. The wood part looks like they just upset the ring around it in an inward direction. You could pry the button out but it will probably break. A new one could be sized closely and epoxied in. I don't have one of these in hand so this is just a guesstimate.
