A treasure from my dad !

Thought I'd share this treasure from my dad with everyone.
He was in the Navy in World War II and was issued this.
I can remember being a small kid growing up and this knife and a couple pairs of lawn edging shears lived tucked behind the 12/2 Romex wiring in the wall of the garage where they waited patiently for lawn mowing day.
When that day came around, he would gather up what tools from his arsenal he decided to attack the edges of the lawn with,, this knife always being one of them .
The old man took great pleasure and crawling around on his hands and knees, edging his beloved lawn.
He had a stressful job and I think looking back it allowed him to escape to where he just didn't have to think about anything and he enjoyed it...

When he passed many years ago, this is one item that was passed on to me.
It took quite a while and some time on a few different stones to bring the edge back to what it should be, but now she'll shave hair with the best of them.
    Hope you enjoy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Isn't that nice...? I was just looking at those wishing to buy one but most won't ship to Canadaicon. I just bought a Cattaraugus 225Q recently, always wanted one. Those Mark 1 navy knives are hard to find hereabouts...nice.
    Regards, Jim

Nice knife, you spoke of JIM, had to look it up, as I had never heard of one before
But most definitely liked what I saw. Congratulations. She looks like a dandy.

I found out about them by accident, very hard to find around here. I had to get one to go with the Mk2 K Bar and my Gerber Mk2, still need a Mk1 Navy like yours or one of the many other model of Mk1 with the VP scabbard. Also have a Randall #14.
