Before, when the old gun laws were in use, a rifle/carbine has to be at least 61 centimeters long stock extended. No requirements existed about the barrel length. With the new (& current) law, there is no longer a requirement of length...pretty antything is allowed.
I love you FN Mauser trainer....none can be found here ! No ABL rifles were sold to the public (except some SAFN brought back from the USA...go figure : ABL rifles sold to an US importer, then sold back to a Belgian importer & finally sold to Belgian customers).

About the barrel, yes, I know, it will be less than ideal but I toying with the idea of an "Advisor Carbine"...I will use a M1A1 stock repro to give it a particular look...the kind of firearm that will bring a eyebrow rise from the well-thinking shooters at the range (the guys who nearly laugh of me because of my 1953 M1, my n°4 & because I am not shooting a very expensive Steyr bolt action rifle using Lapua ammo)
