A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. The stock has filler and been sanded? Therefore the finish is hokey...what else? The scope reticle pattern is interesting, I'd like to shoot one. Looks like a range finder at 200m, if the standing man fits inside the lines, it's 200m.
    Regards, Jim

Yep. Another misleading description for a new collector to get taken in by a less than honest dealer.
No restoration???? As Jim mentions above, a person would have to be blind not to notice the stock being heavily sanded with filler in all the dings. The mono-pod is for a standard 99 rifle, not the longer pod for the 97...and the spring set is missing.

On the plus side, it is a real 97 and scope. The reticle pattern on 97 scopes are made this way. It's just a shame that someone is going to spend this kind of money and not have a collectable condition rifle.
