Skennertons "Lee Enfield" history.

The picture of the case housing the No4 Mk4 T M10B was sent to me by AIA so as to confirm my outstanding order.

Fully dovetailed with all new metal components. The books shown are not indicative of the kit. Most of the items are in the photo are for

effect only.

I don't wish to be rude. However, I really don't get the point of expending this huge amount of effort creating these kits, when the originals upon which these replicas are based are readily available - and probably for less than the replicas... Or am I missing something important? If so, forgive me.

Yes, you have missed something important. Some here like a new built rifle of new materials for shooting, instead of shooting historically important, some rare, some irreplaceable rifles. And especially nice is that these are based on a tried and true design. If you don't "get it", that's fine, then leave the discussion to those that do.

Hmmm, looks similar to the Limited Edition (303 copies) Leather Bound and box sleeved book "The Lee Enfield". Looking closely, I'd say it's a standard copy of "The Lee Enfield" with a special cover with an AIA rifle and their emblem as opposed to the No5 and EFD Roundel on the original, in a slightly modified box sleeve.

Clever marketing ploy...

Personally I'm going to hold off buying the kit until they include the free steak knives....

Yes it i'd say it was the same book, good job on finding yet another angle.
im sure its part of the conspiracy also.
No steak knives though, just the book.
Ian Skennerton has worked very closley with AIA, perhaps you should Email him and see if he thought it was a ploy.
