..and who said I would rather be lucky then good???
Well I need to play the lotto this week.. I just stopped by a tiny , and I mean tiny local "gun shop". (only has about 15 guns in it and a ton of crap) to see what had gotten in since I was last there. well hit the jackpot again. he had a decent 711XXX inland with I was told a broke stock. he took it in on trade last week and couldnt figure out why it wouldnt function. well some BUBBA!! wanted an Evil black rifle so he primed and painted this thing semi gloss black. we couldnt even read the makes mark on it.. but I will get to the point. it has a serrated saftey, inland dogleg hammer and a type 1 inland trigger housing.. but here is the best part..since he painted EVERYTHING!! so it wouldnt even function.. I bought it for $100.00 .. he thaught it was an old beat up plainfield.. so after about an hour in the solvent .. I have a pretty decent shooter and a few more early parts.
I did learn today that I need to ask for carbines more often..

If I had ANY luck, in my case I would have gotten it and it would be a Universal with a cracked frame.... Luck and Bernie Molloy are seldom uttered in the same conversation, let alone ssame sentence!!! Great find.

I would love the pictures of your poor, mistreated and abused carbine which you bravely fought to save from the dangerous clutches of the Bubba armed with the can of black spray paint... Hail the brave hero - where are the pictures???????????????
(Wow, that was hard. I typed that with a straight face!!! )
I am never that lucky! Congrats!

My fist carbine was the same, painted four colours of camo. It did however turn out to be a plainsfield. That's OK, there were many to follow it!
