CMP 1911 has shipped About 100 Pistols so far and the pictures look real nice. Every one that has posted so far are very happy with Pistol they received. I am still waiting for a RNG Number.

I got my RNG # 11411 from the CMP 1911 Sales site on Feb 27-2019, so I will be waiting until the Army sends the next batch, maybe in the fall of 2019. The wife is still waiting for her RNG # but it will come in time.

I turned out to be one of the lucky ones with an RNG of 8005 — which initially made me believe I was not going to get a 1911 this go around. AND CMP informed me at the time I got my RNG that I would not be able to buy one this year.
Imagine my surprise when in early August I "got the call". I chose a Service Grade for $1050.00
I received a nice tight Model 1911. Receiver and slide manufactured by Colt. The serial number shows the receiver was manufactured in 1918. The slide, also Colt, is a 1944 replacement. The parking matches, receiver and slide. The gun was obviously refinished, shows evidence of sandblasting and the stamping is less distinct than I would like, but love the gun any way. Good shooter!

I'll see if I can take some worth seeing. I tried it earlier with my old flip phone and the detail was ng.

I used my wife's iPad (with her help) to take these pictures of my Service Grade CMP 1911 obtained in August through the RNG lottery.
To recap the identification: Colt Model 1911 manufactured in 1918 according to the serial number. Colt slide probably from 1944(?) This gun was issued to the US Navy, according to the info I have obtained so far.

I noticed the "United States Property" stamp on the receiver. Doesn't this indicate that it was part of the Lend Lease Program?

I don't think this gun was a Lend Lease because the serial number on the frame shows it was made in 1918. Much too early for Lend Lease which came about in the early days of WWII.
AND the CMP 1911 Forum has many pictures of Model 1911s with that stamp on the left side of the receiver.
But — I'm all ears if anyone wants to make a case for anything interesting and informative about this pistol. That is why I am here; I know very little about 1911s, and want to learn what I can, especially about this one.

Nice looking old Colt. I don't think it was LL gun, that mark was standard on all pistols.

Thanks. I really do prefer the "used" appearance.
The double diamond grips are new manufacture; I just like the look. The old plastic ones are what came on the gun. The fact that the rack numbers do not match would indicate that one or both were put on the pistol as replacements.
I was pleased to get a gun used by the US Navy. My father served aboard a destroyer escort in WWII, and my brother and I both served in the Navy during the latter years of Viet Nam.
