Looking good Bearhunter! Any chance to see some detailed pics of the Berdan II? Might be a great rifle to feature in a milsurp knowledge library post!
Are there any foreign ownership stamps, or is it all correct Russian
?

Are you sure your Norwegian
K98
is 7.62 Nato? The ones I've seen marked "7.62" are .30-06.

I enjoyed seeing your collection. The P-14 with the Boyds stock is interesting. I'm restoring a sported P-14; its currently in a rough stock from an Indian DP, but I've obtained a Boyds stock. Have yet to start installing the barrelled action, and finishing the stock. Picked up a PH5B sight, so I'm hoping it will be a good range rifle.

Yes the Norwegian
98 is is 7.62x51. When I first saw it, like you I was a disbeliever. A run with go-nogo gauges confirmed the truth. It does turn out to be a rare bird though as very few were actually converted to the Nato round. bearhunter

Tiriaq, I bought the rifle as is. It wasn't cheap but was priced fairly in my mind considering all of the work that went into it. The metal has all been polished and reblued and it has all matching numbers. It looks like it may have had some surface rust at one time, therefore the rebuild, wood may also have been cut down to sporter length and it was saved a horrible life. However it shoots very well if I do my part, so as well as looking very pretty at the milsurp shoots, it also shows yeoman service and proves it isn't just another pretty face. If you have a beater that needs a refit, go for it. Boyds stocks are great and are very close to spec. bearhunter

Thanks for the info. The .30-06's aren't exactly common, so this one is even less so. Nice piece!

Thank You
To those who went before me, showing the way with courage and honour.
To those who went with me.
To those who follow behind me.
To those who are missing never to be found.
To those who gave all, while asking nothing in return.
You will always be remembered, honoured and will live in our hearts and minds forever. I salute you all.
