Tokarev TT33 with unusual top slide

    Hello,

Have just purchased a couple of TT33's dated 36 & 37, they have an unusual coloured top slide, it is a copper colour.

Slide and frame numbers match, hoping someone could tell me the history of these?

Was told by seller they were made this colour for a specific reason.

cant post picture until Friday sorry.

    Cheers

    Andy

I have a USSR TT33 dated 1935 in the same condition. The slide is bronze color. The frame is normal rust blue. Worked it out as too much nickel in the steel. It turned over the years. The same color if you hot blue with too much nickel in the alloy steel. other wise the quality of construction very good. regards gary Moore habitant of the Fen. a resolute and hardy breed.
