1943 Defence Industries Mark VII Z

Do any of you own (or owned) any MkVIIz from Defence Industries? I am looking for any positive and/or negative comments about this ammo.

DI VIIz ammunition has a reputation for being of very high quality. The brass has been considered superior for reloading. It is 67 years old, however.

We had lots of it around here (Canadaicon). Shot fine, accurate and the brass is good for seconds. No complaints.
    Regards, Jim

I'm glad to hear positive comments, I recently picked up 800 rounds and wanted to get feedback from those that have used it. I tested 20 rounds the other day with no issues at all.

Without doubt the finest .303 military ammunition ever produced.

Excelent brass, consistent loading, Boxer primers, noncorrosive and nonmercuric both.

Primers now are getting a bit old and the brass is hardening slowly.

I have a bit of the ammo on hand for testing, but I HOARD the brass: there is no better .303 brass, period. Sure, it might want a bit of annealing every 30 years but as long as you are not trying to cram a .50BMG load into it, it is excellent. SUPER consistent.... and ALL the rims are right at the .063" Max, so headspace problems are at a minimum.

    Hope this helps.
