Slr .22 conversion
Anybody got an SLR fitted with the H&K conversion kit and 10 round magazine?
Would like to know what you think of them as they appear to be getting rare

There is a long thread on these kits on the L1A1 bit of the forum Gil. Generally well thought of and reliable from my point of view, Unless you get a bulge in the sub-cal barrel and then the barrel is stuck there for good and you have a permanent .22" SLR.
The kits ain't been made since the late 70's and are now rare. Magazines are even rarer and what you'd call 'xxxxxxg expensive'! Though the internal magazine, the .22" one that fits inside the big L1A1 mag is a bog standard off the shelf H&K part.
The GOOD news is that the kits are being remanufactured in the US. But, alas, still expensive!

Thanks Peter appreciate that, nice to have an alternative "vermin" rifle as long as the price is right and its not one pull jobby's like the full bore version is these days.

Nah..............massive show of strength of 16 AA at Duxford this weekend on the 70th Anniversary of DDAY.
Whatever way you cut it you need an airborne flexibility option, but who knows what the autocrats will come up with next, like saying REME is going or Warminster and outsourcing all the work they both do there. They would never dare try it!!
Sadly Royal Irish have been under the microscope many times before and their saving grace was being part of the Brigade, but it looks like their time is up.
2 & 3 PARA are the countries Rapid Reaction Force and 1 PARA are part of Special Forces (Special Forces Support Group) so they look to be OK however, their Battalion strengths are wobbling as people look to outside for work and are leaving because of these crazy uncertain times.
History of these Regiments and what they have done for this country means nothing to these MP's at Whitehall, and shame on people like Ian Duncan Smith ex Colonel who should be leading the blind into the light. It does leave you wondering was the loss of life in recent conflicts even worth it, when these elected members of Parliament forget the sacrifice made.
