No 4 Mk 2 Transverse Screw
I'm putting together a No 4 Mk 2 that had been cut down and during the final test fit of components I ran into a question. Just how tight is that transverse screw at the rear of the fore-end supposed to be?

It only needs to bite a little - the screw and bolt only act on a thin layer of wood, and so over-tightening will damage it. The bolt is only really stabilising the forend draws, so doesn't have to be that strong - the recoil forces are acting perpendicular to the bolt.

Thanks Thunderbox. I figured it wasn't too awful tight but I wanted to make sure on it.
