    Ishapore screw????

    Ok I need a stock for my Long Branch 44 Lee Enfield No 4 mk1. I found one but its advertised with a Ishapore screw.. Will this still fit my Enfield?

    Yes, the Ishapore screw just reinforces the forend against splitting longitudinally forward from the front trigger guard screw/kingscrew. It won't have any bearing on the fit of the wood.

    If it's otherwise in good condition and not a battered about bit of old tat, you can plug the screw hole so that it's (virtually) impossible to see. There is a short thread on this very subvect if someone is clever enough with compu'erz to bring it up.

    Cantom, a member of this site, has a couple of fore ends for sale over on CGN. They look to be very decent and I seem to remember he's asking $75 each for them.
