I have this OI marked type 4 stock. It also has a faint [fake?] RMC mark.To me the OI looks real and the RMC does'nt look right. Added on with plain letter stamps?

My untrained, uneducated, irgnorant and half-blind opinion... You are correct. The wear and edges of the "IO" are alot different from tge "RMC". The edges of the "RMC" are extremely sharp.
Now with that said, it could be because a sharper tool was used on the RMC which cut into the grain of the wood deeper and sharper....
But that is my untrained and uneducated two cents worth...

rmc was added. rockola 's stamp was a 1 peice stamp, you can tell that the rmc on that stock was done as 3 different stamps

I think that Rock-ola sent 10K stocks to Inland in 1943

but that doesn't explain the "IO" which is Overson? Does it have a circled P on the pistol grip bottom? That would make it an Inland stocked disguised as a RMC.

I thought Inland started using type 4 stocks around the 6.9 mil. range. 1945 I think. Wouldn't Inland use mostly type 3 In 1943-1944?

It's sad that so many people are ruining the real history (and value) of so many carbine stocks these days.

This one may have lost it's value but it is still doing it's job. Just in a different way.
Thanks all and HAPPY EASTER!
