If it is what I am thinking of it is for neck sizing only. I have no idea if you can get them new any more.
I think I still have one, if your friend is interested he can have it for the price of postage from here but that might end up more than finding one locally .. and who knows what will upset the Federales this week.

I'm not Australian
, but here's a link to a thread on an Australian forum that seems to answer some questions. Unfortunately, it's a bit old, so no pics show, but maybe it'll get you going. Looks interesting! Old reloading gear can be fascinating on it's own merits.

Do a google search for "Jansa Arms Co"
Last time I looked on their site, they had a section about Simplex gear - with pictures.
Simplex range seems to have had mostly neck sizing dies (5/8" ?? size), but there were also some regular 7/8" dies.

Here are some Simplex links.
JANSA ARMS CO - Australia
SIMPLEX Reloading Press (eBay item 260681083306 end time 31-Oct-10 19:19:56 AEDST) : Sport showns a Simplex press sold on eBay. It mentions 5/8" dies. Perhaps the press uses the Lyman 5/8" x 30 tpi dies - the press looks a lot like the old Lyman Tru-Line Jr. press which used the 5/8" x 30 dies. Lyman still makes those dies but in just a few calibers Lyman Products Your Primary Source for Reloading Equipment These turn up on eBay quite often

RE: Simplex press
Are you aware that the Simplex press will not accept Lyman dies and vice versa? The two presses use different threads.

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
I have one but im sure it came from Herters about 40 years ago. I will check it out to see if it has any stamp etc on it.

I am the friend looking for a Simplex - would be delighted to pay the post from Australia
(I am aware that it is absurd), and put some gold in your pocket to boot. I collect old reloading tools, and this fills a historical niche, along with the Johnson Red Head and Lyman Tru-Line Jr. presses. If you have any extra dies, would be delighted to buy them as well. Can you reply direct to my email - brucedow@tampabay.rr.com? Bruce
