Hornady Lock N Load Progressive Press

A guy near me is offering to sell his set-up complete with everything needed for 4 pistol calibers for $150. He describes it as being in excellent condition. I have never used this sort of press and I also don't know anyone who has. I know the price is good. But I would like feedback from people who have used the Hornady Progressive. I am interested in such things as ease of use, reliability, and frequency of any type of problems that might be encountered. In other words, what do I need to be concerned about. TIA

I forgot to add that I now have the Lee press. Would the Hornady be a step up or a big improvement?

Is the Hornaday press a progessive? If it is with four dies setup it would be a great deal. Just remember a progessive press is only as good as the operator. What I mean by this if you are mechicaly inclined you will be OK. I look at a fully progessive press as a problem solver. As the operator must solve problems when they happen and figure them out and solve them.
I have setup at gunshows for the past 23 yrs and sell reloading equipment. So I have seen and sold to 100,000's of customers over the yrs and would never sell a progessive press to some of them as they couldn't operate it anyway. With you Lee classic turret press only one stage is happening at once with the fully progessive all stages are happening.
All that said if the Hornaday is a full progessive press outfit buy it as you would have over 500.00 of equipment there. And resell for a profit or contact me and I will make you a reasonable offer on it.

I have a Hornady Loc+Load press and love it. While it's a single stage press the die change out is quick and easy. $150.00 price is a good deal.

For a Hornady LNL Progressive with 4 calibers, $150 is a STEAL. This press is very well made. One neat feature is that the shell plate indexes 1/2 way on each stroke (both upstrole and downstroke). This makes it very smooth. Other progressive presses index the whole distance on either stroke.

Also, the lockn Load bushings are easy to change and you never have to reset your dies.

If the set-up is in good shape..... Buy it, FAST!!
