Can you read "D6835448" or "D6535448" instead ?
Thank you.

Hi Browningautorifle, yes really long time. I hope all is ok there.
In the second pix from the top I can read the complete drawing number. Can't you ?

I can see the drawing number but it's hard to make out several of the digits. I dug my Danish
return M-1 out of the safe and it has D 6535448 with a 7-60 date of manufacture. I assume the drawing numbers will be the same.

I tend to go with what Vintage Hunter has found. Makes sense too. Yes, all is well here.

The DK with the crown stands for "Kingdom of Denmark
". I don't know what the stamp that looks like "KOA within the circle is. A proof mark maybe ???

Can't help out on the markings. But can say that those VAR barreled M1
Garands are really nice shooters.
