1955 SA M1 Garand drawing numbers

Hi, wondering if I could get some help finding out if this Garand is correct based on drawing numbers? The rifle is 1955 Springfield Armory serial 5,4xx,xxx

Reciever: F 6528291
Barrel: SA F6535448 2 55 A218B
Bolt: D28287-12SA
Trigger group: 6528290-SA
Op rod: 779072

I would expect all parts for 1955 would have the 65 prefix code - So no, not correct on the 12 SA Bolt

In Canada, the odds of finding an original assembled M1 are very scarce. Only some of the lend lease rifles that came in will be correct. Alan Lever of Lever Arms in Vancouver imported many Danish returns over the years. I was told clearly by men that worked for him that the rifles were all stripped to bits and reassembled...after parts were inspected. Some older members will remember JohnR now passed on, he was one of the inspectors working on these rifles in Vancouver.

CMP was smart enough to ask GCA for help in identifying what collectors wanted or they might have done the same thing. We were thrilled to be asked.

I read that the Danish Garands were shipped to the CMP without their bolts. Is there any truth to this statement? Or was what I read actually referring to the Danish rifles shipped to Canada, similar to how you mentioned that they were shipped in bits and pieces?

No, I said they were STRIPPED into every single part and all stripped parts checked for serviceability. I wouldn't doubt the bolt removal story though. If you observe the rear sight cover has a number and an anchor engraved...I've never seen one that matches the rifle number. The stock number also is likely mismatched.

I'm not sure what these guys were doing exactly, serviceability check I think it was supposed to be.

They all have a liability risk, so they don't want to take any chances.
