If The Numbers You Speak Of Are Parked Over Its A Pretty Good Indication That It Is Refinished. That Being Said, It Has Very Little Collectibility And Value Is Reduced To Shooter Grade.

Without commenting in depth Garand
's pictures are helping me somewhat in my research on the pistol I'm looking at. I believe you commented on my earlier thread just a couple of days ago. Thx to both of you.

Depends on the price. Are those initials scratched in or electro-penciled and parked over? Who is JC? If it was General John Chain, then you might have something cool. If it was PFC Jimmie Chavez who stole it from supply and used it to shoot beercans, not so much.
I would base my decision on three things. Do I already have on in the collection? It this one desirable at the price they are asking? Does it look original or correct?

Are crossed cannons stamped after park or before? It looks after, that would mean original?

The closest General Officer pistols to this one would be 569270 and 569273.
