7.62 X 54 R and 7.62 X 39 Ammo
Was talking to John at Marstar the other day and he mentioned he has some 7.62 X 54 R ammunition that expects to have in early Sept. He has a few million rounds, that may sound like alot but really isn't.
He also mentioned that it looks like the abundant supply of 7.62 X 39 is about to dry up.
It is probably the time to stock up as I see some shops increasing the price on "39".
A WORD TO THE WISE IS SUFFICIENT.

Reason: spelling as usual
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

you can purchase "39" for 17 cents a round so if you like milsurp ammo it is a great price. So many SKS rifles have been sold here and the reason is such a abundant supply of cheap ammo. That is going to end and sooner than later. You have it seems plenty of 54 R right now but that is going to vanish quite quickly. I posted this to tell people if they want to stock up on cheap ammo they would be advised to do it now. The last thing I want to do is reload for my SKS rifles.

Even though we have what seems plenty of 7.62x54R ammo, like you said, eventually it'll run out. I have just got all the stuff together to start reloading this caliber.
I already have reloaded the .303 British
.
Stocking up will never hurt!

I reload for 13 calibres (17 rifles; this includes my 3 kids and a few freinds) at present some for sporting rifles some for milsurps. When shooting a semi automatic rifle such as the SKS, SVT-40 especially the Llungman I prefer factory. For bolt action milsurps reloading is a great, dpepending upon how much one shoots. Some of these autos are real brass manglers.
Thanks for the heads up Enfield303T. GRF

Everyone is right here and to reload "54" is getting to be quite common. Shooting the SKS is in my opinion is like plinking with a .22 great fun and considering how quickly I can shoot a bucket of "39" I would go nuts trying to reload it. Now if you shoot a CZ chambered for the "39" and want far better accuracy then reloading would probably be the best way to go. I see prices going up where I live and dread the day when the supply is gone.
