Looks good. If the stock isn't light colored walnut I'd say it's what Col. Edwards describes as "lighter hardwood resembling poplar" which Ishapore used in the 1940's. Whatever it is, linseed oil
will work. I think the sling that's on it now is just fine. It appears that the butt swivel is installed backwards-the heads of both swivel screws should be on the left side.

I agree - the wood looks very nice, so a light cleaning and going over with linseed oil
(thanks for reminding me - I need to get more today) would be all that is needed. how doe she shoot? Anyone know what the cartouche on the right side of the buttstock indicates? That is one area (of the many) that I am ignorant on

No idea myself. But I have the same one on my single shot Ishapore .410 musket conversion.

I don't think that's dirty - ther are just some dark bruised wood fibres that are normal for its wear and age. I would give it a coat of hand-rubbed BLO
, wipe clean, and leave it as-is. The stamp, if I recall my Edwards, is a 1960's era inspection stamp.
