Looks like an STV-40
SVT-40 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think the SA stamp signifies it was captured by Finland
and reissued to their forces.

Well I'll be damned, it looks just like that. Thank you so much for the help. My next mission is to find an inexpensive stock and the rest of the parts so I can actually shoot it. From what I managed to find so far, it seems those stocks can be rather pricey. I can only imagine how much all the parts to build the trigger assembly would run me let alone the bolt.

Oddly, I've seen them around US$50-60.
The drama is that interchangeability is poor. Try to find parts from the same arsenal to improve your chances of things working without lots of fitting.

Interesting. I will definitely have to look into that. I appreciate the help.

You can probably buy a virtually new one for cheaper than it costs to refurbish that one. Then keep that one for spares. As noted, interchangeability is not really very good. That's why they were called the corporal's rifle. It took some moxy to strip and assemble them sometimes...

Definitely SVT-40. Finnish
Army (captured) marked. Just need to see the arsenal marks on the top front of the receiver. The Finns did manage to make functioning mixmasters, but they had many parts from which to choose, and did not mind scrapping out rifles to keep others running. Kinda an expensive proposition for the fellow who has only one (or just part of one!)

The indication to the contrary would be the underside of the muzzle brake. Clearance hole for the cleaning rod is evident.
