He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.

Between August 15th and 20th of 1944, USS Barry, a converted1920s four-stack Destroyer (formerly DD-248), landed her troops in Southern France
. Barry ended her life at Okinawa. She was attacked on May 25th by kamikazes who damaged her badly enough that she was decommissioned on June 21, 1945. Later that day as she was being towed out to be a decoy, she and her escort, LSM-59, were attacked by kamikazes and sunk. Mission accomplished. She was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and four Battle Stars for her work in WWII.
