A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Can not be Normandy, June 1944, as the "Barry' APD 29 was in Algeria practicing for the invasion of Southern France icon

in August 1944.

Between August 15th and 20th of 1944, USS Barry, a converted1920s four-stack Destroyer (formerly DD-248), landed her troops in Southern France icon

. Barry ended her life at Okinawa. She was attacked on May 25th by kamikazes who damaged her badly enough that she was decommissioned on June 21, 1945. Later that day as she was being towed out to be a decoy, she and her escort, LSM-59, were attacked by kamikazes and sunk. Mission accomplished. She was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and four Battle Stars for her work in WWII.
