Potential unrefurbished WWII Underwood M1 Carbine
Hi all,
I think I might have just bought a unrefurbished M1
Carbine. It is a Underwood, and has all the early features (2 position rear sight, push through safety, and no bayonet lug barrel band).
It is in rough shape though, and I haven't gotten it yet (have to have it registered in my name first before I can go get it).
Looking forward to sharing it on here, and learning what I can from the rifle, as I know there is some real carbine junkies on here!

Hey, I've got a couple that match that description! One has quite a "story" behind it, and the other happens to my best shooter. Hope you get it soon! - Bob

Well if you really want to SHARE IT........... and maybe some profit.
Do you know where the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Center is? Near the Northern Superior Brewing Co.
I'll be up that way in August and could troll my way over there across the ST. Marys River from the US side and meet you !
We used to cross over there years ago, but now with the increased Border Patrol, Drones with cameras and fixed day and night video cameras, it wouldn't be like the old days.
In fact, Last fall a friends brother while fishing the Detroit river had engine trouble, with a stiff wind and the current pushing him on to a sand bar in the mid channel but in Canadian water. Took a while but got back up and running, heading back to the US side, tying up for the night at his in laws dock a few miles up river. Planning to fix it the next day after sun rise. Got a ride from his Father in law back to the ramp to get his truck and trailer and was rounded up by local, state and federal law. At the same time they had raided his FIL's home and searching/seizing the boat. Ended up with no charges filed other than being fined for the fish he had caught here in the states but having them in his possession in Canada
(for a while) and no license to fish there.
But seriously, I hope it works out for you........... Any idea of the serial number range?
Good Luck

I believe 2768482 but I will have to double check when it comes in. I certainly don't mind meeting members of this site, I love learning and sharing knowledge with like minded individuals (very few collectors within the Sault area).
I believe the barrel was dated 9-43 if I remember correctly.
