    1928 Lithgow No1 MkIII*

    I snapped a fast picture of my 1928 Lithgowicon No1 MkIII* last time it was out of the safe. I acquired it pretty long ago and did find a Lithgow bayonet last year. I am not an expert but I think it was rebuilt around 1943 if I remember the stamp on the stock. It has only made a couple of trips to the range. When I first got it the wood was much lighter and looked very raw. Over the years it has darkened and looks better. When I took my son to his first trip to the range, really wanted to shoot the SMLE.

    The middle band and rear sling swivel are on in the wrong direction. All screws should go from left to right.

    OK, what does the MA vs shield refer to? I will also hence forth state it is a 1923 Lithgowicon. I do appreciate the knowledge of the forum members.
