No record CMP
back to 1996. I think this rifle would be late 1950's era. I can email pictures.

CMP
records are complete back to 1996, they do have DCM records from earlier years but are not complete. The year of the rifle has nothing to do with the CMP search.

Yes lost incomplete records . The only thing it that was enlightening was it's not a recent return like the Greek ,Dane or later returns. The DoD ARMY records are not out there to. I have a nice $2500 rifle for sure. N.M. we're sold at at Camp Perry ,match teams etc. One cannot say it's one way or the other.

or it may be a basement build. Need more detailed pics than you had on other forum. Also need pictures of the bedding

Bedding looks like team bedding. I have two two stocks one bedded and one post-war DOS no bedding. Both can be used and both correct. More so the non bedded correct for type one. My Garand
guru says looks like type 1 not type 11. Says unmarked sites right and no other N.M parts but barrel. Hand fitted and for accuracy to look like stock rifle. Says it looks like pre 1960 rifle. For $950 it was a steal. Offered me twice that. Gonna keep it. Thanks all. Over and out.

He was convinced in his own mind before he ever asked the question. Thank goodness that he found a Garand
expert to validate his belief contrary to every totally objective fact with which he was presented.
