1969 Envoy on Gunstar.
What looks like a very nice Envoy is for sale on Gunstar in the UK.
It's at MFL Classic firearms.
At 700 pounds; it looks like a good buy to me. Unfortunately I will not be buying it, as I am not sure of the importation rules since Brexit. I have imported before and it was a lengthy process. Can't imagine it's any easier now! Someone here must want it.

This company 'build' No4Ts, L39s etc and can even convert your own No4 to whatever spec you need / want.
It is always worth looking very closely at any dealer selling 'rare' rifles, even the experts get caught out sometimes.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Do you think it's a fake?
Surely if you to go to all that trouble you'd make it an L42 and add an extra zero!

No necessarily but just suggesting care is taken when ever a non 'run-of-the-mill' rifle is offered for sale.
A well known UK dealer of Lee Enfields has been known to sell rifles assembled from components as being 'original'. When questioned the rifle dissapears from their website

The one being sold is E84
E83 was sold through Highwood Classics and the photos are still there. Nothing looks out of place to suggest it isn't legit.

But not quite as low as LERA's Envoy, "cough" E1
I've known this dealer for quite a few years now and bought an SMLE from him three years ago, nice bloke!

I suspect the buttstock is not the one shipped with the rifle. It is dated 1971. The rifle is dated 1969.

Envoys were not made in numerical order. Envoy E84 was made with a D69 action but was produced on 28th Sept 1971.
So, even if you have a low number ENVOY, it doesn't automatically mean it was an early one.
D70 dated actions were not used until much higher numbering.
